THE HALF WAY HOUSE
The halfway house is a safe shelter for women and girls without guardians who have been separated from the warmth of family and are currently undergoing recovery from addiction .
This center provides them with the opportunity to reintegrate into society and rebuild their lives.
In June 2014, Simaye Sabz Rahayi Harm Reduction Institute, in collaboration with the Tehran Province Welfare Organization, established the first officially licensed Empowerment and Social Reintegration Center for women recovering from addiction in Tehran.**
During their free residency at the center, women and girls in recovery receive psychological and physical care from social workers, psychologists, and medical staff. The center also strives to create employment opportunities and prepare them for independent living. When needed, referrals and support are coordinated through governmental and non-governmental organizations, charities, and other institutions.
