Illustrated Report – Simaye Sabz Rahayi Harm Reduction Mobile Unit – Qods

Introduction

The Harm Reduction Mobile Unit is a station designed to provide harm reduction services in urban hotspots, aiming to improve access for homeless individuals and people who use drugs. These units are placed in high-risk neighborhoods with a significant population of street-involved individuals and offer walk-in harm reduction services.

This station is located at Imam Hossein Square, just before the gas station, next to the street. It operates daily from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, serving its target community.

A trained social worker from Simaye Sabz Rahayi is always present at the unit to provide necessary services to clients.

The unit is consistently stocked with sterile syringes, needles, and condoms, which are distributed free of charge to clients engaging in high-risk behaviors to help reduce harm.

In addition to distributing harm reduction supplies, clients are periodically offered HIV rapid testing at the unit. If a test result is positive, counseling and referrals are provided.
Some clients, due to unhealthy lifestyles or homelessness, occasionally require wound care. The Qods unit is equipped with basic dressing supplies to meet these needs when necessary.
Throughout operating hours, tea and a light, healthy, and hygienic meal are provided by the institute to encourage repeat visits and engagement.

Attached to this report are several photographs documenting the unit’s activities.
